Nakhchivan City is the largest and most populous city in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, serving as the political, economic, and cultural centre of the exclave. The seven districts have their own administrative centres: Sharur, Babek, Ordubad, Julfa and Shahbuz. Most district centres share the same names as their districts, while Kangarli District is administered from Givraq and Sadarak District from Heydarabad.
